Last Thursday evening, we learned that Abigail has been diagnosed with cancer.
There is so much that we don't know. But so many of you care so deeply about this kind, beautiful and strong woman, that we can't wait until we have all the facts to solicit your prayers and support.
Here's what we know:
- Abigail has neuroendocrine carcinoma
- It's very rare
- It has metastasized
What we don't know:
- Treatment options
- Anything else
Abi will be meeting with her oncologist on Tuesday. At that point we're hoping to have the questions above (and others) answered. But we also know that answers are often slow in coming.
We are all in varying degrees... angry, confused, shocked, and dumbstruck.
But more importantly, we are DETERMINED. We are all looking forward to joining with you, Abi, and John to get on with this fight, so that Abi and John can get on with the beautiful life they've only just begun to build together.
(John's note: "You should know that Abi is currently doing well physically and her spirits are high, all things considered. My wife is a total badass and together, with your love and support, we are and ready for this fight.")
We understand that you are likely to have many questions, and we plan to use this site to keep everybody updated as things progress.
In the meantime, all that we ask of you is your thoughts and prayers, and perhaps an encouraging note to Abi and John so that they know you're in their corner, and that they're not going into this alone.
Also, please feel free to share this site with friends.
