Another quick hitter today.
It's been a good weekend for Abi.
Grandma Sara and Don arrived on Thursday. Don with his homemade caramel corn. Sara ever willing to give foot massages. Sara and Don taking the long way to New Leaf to say hello to Sarah and pick up flowers for Christmas in September - which we celebrated on Saturday night.
Chris arrived earlier in the day, and was able to join us. It was a night in Italy, with the highlights being mom's lasagne with sauce brought from Ohio, some surprise wines, and (almost) all the siblings in one place at the same time. Only Victoria was missing. She was definitely missed.
Abi wasn't feeling up for a meal, so she hung in the living room. But I know it made her feel good to have both of her brothers so close. She's been missing Chris. Really missing him.
Abi continues to struggle with pain and nausea, and it's still affecting her ability to rest. It's not been easy. But Abi keeps on. She keeps on.
What's in store for the week?
Tuesday is the big day. Our girl's next scan. Then a consult with one a palliative care physician. We're guardedly optimistic she will help Abi, and the whole care team, to live every single moment a bit more fully. That Abi will get some relieve from her pain and nausea, and maybe, just maybe, even a little rest in at night.
Important to note that our girl will continue to be treated for her cancer, and that effort continues to be led by Dr. McGaughey.
So keep her in your prayers. Always in your prayers.
